Our ladies group at Las Vegas Church of the Harvest, has been studying Joyce Meyer’s Book, “The Confident Woman.” God has been opening our eyes and we are beginning to see the importance of maintaining confidence towards God at all times.
Hebrew 10:35 GW
35 So don’t lose your confidence. It will bring you a great reward. 36 You need endurance so that after you have done what God wants you to do, you can receive what he has promised
God gave us all confidence as a gift so we can fulfill His plan for our lives. As we began to look at our lives during a one of our discussions at the Bible Study, we realized that we all lost our confidence when we were very young. Many of us lost a portion of our confidence during a bad relationship with a boy friend during High School and continued to loose it from that point on in bad relationships including marriages.
How did we loose our confidence? By making decisions of fear because of anxiety and unbelief about our lives! Yes, every time we chose to do things our own way and not trust God, we made bad decisions and gave up our confidence.
Having confidence towards God is crucial to coming to our destiny. Without it all we do is make decisions and go from one bad decision to another, settling for brief moments of fleshly pleasure that ends in disaster.
But, when we hold onto our confidence trusting God’s Word and His ways, we go from one victory to another. Your life long destiny will come into view as you make each of your decisions based on the faithfulness of God to keep and fulfill your life!
Merry Christmas! With everything that is going on with the economy in our nation, you may be saying, “What is so merry about this Christmas?” The answer is: God gave us the best gift we could ever ask for when He gave us the Lord Jesus Christ. He not only gave us eternal life in Heaven, but also the power and example for success here on earth!
We must not overlook the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ and take the time to fully understand all the blessings that we have received by making Jesus Christ our lord and savior. He is the answer to everything we are facing right now and tomorrow. We must give thanks to our Father God for His wonderful gift to us. 2Cor. 9:15 Wey says…15 Thanks be to God for His unspeakably precious gift!
Let’s look at some of the benefits God has given us….
1. God Made Himself Known to Humanity- Jesus came to declare and make known who God was on the earth. John 1:18 tells us…18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
As Jesus walked on the earth He went about doing good to all men, showing God’s mercy, love, patience and justice. He showed us the love nature of God and displayed to us that God’s love for us is always to, heal, provide and protect us.
2. Jesus Experienced Understanding of the Sufferings of Humanity So He Could Comfort Us - Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw how we suffered with the challenges of serving God while in our flesh. He experienced our sufferings and temptations in the flesh so He is able to have mercy on us when we fail. He knows exactly how to pray for us and help us in our most tempting times to not obey God. Heb 7:25 says, 25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Just think about it, the Lord Jesus Christ is praying for you right now!
3. Jesus Took Away the Sins of Humanity- When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and gave all of man kind over to the law of sin and death, God needed a spotless sacrifice to pay our penalties. Jesus Christ went to the cross in our place and by suffering in our behalf paid the penalties for us to live free from sin and its terrible law. Now God can freely bless us the way that He wants to because the law of sin has been removed from our lives. Gal. 3:13 exhorts us, 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
4. God Destroyed the Efforts of Satan Against Humanity - Everything you have suffered loss of, all the torment you’ve endured and everyone you had to release to sickness, was because of Satan and not God. Jesus said in John 10:910 The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. Satan is the thief and Jesus has destroyed his efforts in your life. If you believe it you can receive it.
5. Jesus Came to Show Us How to Live - Jesus Christ is our example of how to live here on earth. 1Peter 2:24 says, 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps. Yes we can live our lives in victory right here on earth, if we follow Jesus example. What a wonderful gift.
6. Jesus Conquered Hell, Death and the Grave For All Humanity - In Heb. 2:14-15 we are told, 14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Christ subdued hell, death, the grave, Satan and demon powers as a man. We no longer have to live in fear of the devil because we belong to God and Jesus is on the inside of us. Through faith we can tap into the same triumphant victory that Jesus attained for us over Satan and his party.
These are just a few of the wonderful benefits the we have receive from making Jesus Christ Lord of our lives. What a life changing gift. If you haven’t received God’s gift, you can receive Him right now. Rom. 10:9 says, 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
To receive the Lord Jesus Christ, say this prayer:
God, I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. Jesus I ask you to come into my heart and be lord of my life. I receive Jesus Christ as my lord right now by faith, in Jesus Name.
Now thank God for the wonderful Gift you received this Christmas!
The Bible says in Hebrews 4:12, 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
As we look closely at this Scripture we find that God’s infalliable, incorruptable Word is powerful enough to give us revelation of the truth that makes us free. That revelation then enables God to change our nature through faith, to the point that we are making the right decisions. What are the right decisions? They are decisions in obedience to our faith, which activates God’s wonderous power in our entire lives. It all starts with confession of God’s Word. What we say is what we choose to believe. Its in that process of confessing the Word of God, that our faith is able to rise to its highest potential that brings deliverance.
Some have said that confession is nothing more than name it and claim it, but it is so much more. It is what ties us to God and brings us into the Kingdom along with the fullness of its provision, blessing and freedom. It was through believing and confessing Jesus Christ as Lord of your life that you were supernaturally born again and translated from the kingdom of sin and darkness into the Kingdom of God.
Start changing your life more and more into what God intended it to be, by changing your confession to what God has promised you. Go to the Word of God and find the promises for what you need, start confessing the promises in first per present tense, then obey the changes that His Word begins to show you to make. Remember faith without your works of obedience is dead faith, but when you believe, confess and then act, you’ll see the promises of God unfold in your life like never before.
Roman 10:8-9 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: 9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: 10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
